When we have a certain fruit for breakfast, a few pieces of coconut are also served along in the Nature Cure camp. What is the logic behind this recommendation to eat a few pieces of coconut along with certain fruits?

Yes We eat coconut and peel for the roughage value which will help better absorption when these fruit pulps pass through walls of the intestine.

The roughage in fruits is generally provided by the fiber content of its skin or rest of the fruit or both.

So fruits like jack fruit, that don’t have edible skin or much edible fiber are best eaten with a few pieces of coconut to provide the necessary friction.

Without friction, it will be a quick pass through. For people with tender stomachs, it may disturb excretion process also.
